About Us

NAWATT started its work in 2009 and aspires to become a center of excellence in embedded system design in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.The mission of NAWATT is to successfully and professionally procure and finish projects in embedded systems (medical, automotive, industrial, networking and mobile devices) while enforcing high quality and professionalism in its work and achieving high customer satisfaction. NAWATT has also committed to start an initiative in embedded systems technology training in the region.

Team

Ismail AlKamal, CEO and Embedded Software Systems Specialist

Founder of Nawatt labs. Ismail graduated with an M.E. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the American University of Beirut in 2008 and a B.E. in Electronics Engineering from Aleppo University in 2005. He has worked on several embedded projects as a programmer, hardware engineer, team leader and consultant. He also authored a number of IEEE conference and journal papers. In late 2008, he was a visiting researcher with Arizona State University. He is also an Advanced Study Program Fellow at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) where he spent a few months in 2010 developing his software engineering and entrepreneurship skills.

Bassel Taher El-Zeil, COO and Marketing Genius

Bassel is the Chief Operations Officer for Nawatt labs. He has a B.B.A from Tishreen University and a Diploma in Business Administration from St Basile/Cerfal Paris. He is a Certified Trainer by JCI (Junior Chamber International). Bassel has started his career since 2003 in Sales & Marketing and worked for many leading firms in Syria.

Baslan Asad, Embedded Communication Systems Specialist

Baslan graduated with an M.E. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the American University of Beirut in 2009 and a B.E. in Electronics Engineering from Aleppo University in 2005. He's a wired and wireless communication expert as well as a skilled circuit designer. He always keeps us from going over our heads!

Alaa Al Bashar, Embedded Control and Mechatronic Systems Specialist

Alaa graduated with an M.S. in Mechatronics Engineering from the University of Siegen, Germany in 2009 and a B.E. in Electronics Engineering from Aleppo University in 2005. He worked on advanced motor control algorithms at RWTH Aachen while doing his master's thesis project in Germany.  Before that, he was an R&D engineer with Al-Awail company.
